Dokuz Eylul University Bergama Vocational School was established on 19 April 2012. Our vocational school, which was established with Computer Technology, Occupational Health and Safety and Heavy Equipment Operators programs; Occupational Health and Safety started education in 2013-2014 with an associate degree program. Immediately after its establishment, within our school; Public Relations and Promotion, Logistics and Alternative Energy Resources Technology programs have been opened and infrastructure studies for student admission have been completed. The main goal of our school, which adopts the principle of providing quality education with a young, educated and dynamic academic staff, is to train well-equipped students to meet the sectoral needs.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR PROGRAM:

The main purpose of the Heavy Equipment Operators Programme is to train technicians to work in the production and service sectors. “Business Machinery Operator Technician” is a person who has sufficient knowledge about basic production, knows the system and technology used in the industry, knows its features, and can apply his knowledge to industrial systems and equipment. Students who successfully complete the program can pass to some departments with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) of universities; These departments are Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mining Engineering, Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering. In the Heavy Equipment Operators Programme, 100% Turkish language training is provided. Education is carried out with the course passing system. Relative grade evaluation system is applied. Students who successfully complete all of the courses available in the program (for a total of 120 ECTS) and achieve a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are awarded an associate degree in Heavy Equipment Operator.

Program Profile (the purpose of the program, the structure of the program, the areas it focuses on, the department possibilities):
The main purpose of the Heavy Equipment Operators Program is to train intermediate manpower at the level of technicians to work in the production and service sectors. A Heavy Equipment Operator technician is a person who has sufficient knowledge of basic production, knows the system and technology used in the industry, knows its features, and can apply his knowledge to industrial systems and equipment.

Mission
It is to train Heavy Equipment Operators with sufficient professional equipment, who have adopted the principle of continuous improvement and lifelong learning, and who have the qualifications required by our age.
Vision
To train Heavy Equipment Operators who have a sense of social responsibility, adopt the ethical values of their profession, adopt lifelong learning and self-development as a principle, have the ability to adapt to the needs and changes of the economy and industry, are prone to teamwork and interdisciplinary cooperation, and have a creative and analytical mindset, and to provide the necessary facilities for this.
